I have viewed some OCOP discussions about self-help practices in the community. such activities could indeed contribute to improve the hygiene conditions and help build up a sense of community belonging. But it is not easy to observe the sense of belonging. Would you please tell me what type of variable it is?

Sense of belonging is a latent variable that cannot be directly observed, as opposed to observable variables.
