The key point is the “use of research evidence for professional practice.” EBP requires professionals to pay more attention to the evidence in their decision-making. Thereby, EBP helps to replace unsound or outdated practices with more effective ones and shift the basis of decision-making from tradition, intuition, and unsystematic experience to firmly grounded scientific research.
