Can i use Likert scale data for paired sample t-test?

Hi, can anyone tell me if I can use the paired sample t-test to analyze the Likert scale data? I used the retrospective survey to obtain the data (pre and post) on respondents in various statements.Thanks!

The validity of the test depends on the normal distribution of the test data only. Any numerical data showing the normal distribution is suitable for the t-test. When the data deviate greatly from the normal distribution, the sign test is be useful. Nevertheless, normal distribution usually happens to any rating scale.
