Following my previous post, quasi-experimental evaluation designs sound very practical for understand the effectiveness of a community corrections program for offenders. However, to be sure, I want to further confirm and ask whether it get some limitations? I may consider it before implementing it.

Great question. Some treatment programs are not well suited to either experimental or quasi-experimental evaluation designs because their operations fluctuate too much due to their newness. Both evaluation designs require that treatment be constant and uniform throughout the time that the data are collected. If programs have not reached a state of relative stability in operations, the expense and time required for an experiment are likely to be wasted. In such instances, a focus on program implementation is likely to be more fruitful.
