The prison environment has been described to be challenging for prisoners, mainly because of the philosophical conceptions that propagate the isolation of inmates and limiting their rights. Such a conception was an obstacle since it considered all interventions provided in prison settings to have no impact to change criminal behavior. Therefore, theoretically, such a correctional system has vanished and been replaced by a rehabilitative conception in which inmates are trained to become ethical, productive, and entrepreneurial citizens.
