When assessing efforts to raise public awareness about and fight inequality in Hong Kong, several indicators can be considered. Here are five key indicators to evaluate the impact of such initiatives:

Perception and understanding of inequality: Measure changes in public perception and understanding of inequality. This indicator assesses whether the public has an increased awareness and knowledge of the extent, causes, and consequences of inequality in Hong Kong. It can be measured through surveys, interviews, or focus groups.

Support for policy measures: Evaluate the level of public support for policy measures aimed at reducing inequality. This indicator considers whether the public expresses support for policies such as progressive taxation, social welfare programs, affordable housing initiatives, and measures to address wealth disparities. It can be measured through public opinion polls or feedback mechanisms.

Engagement and participation: Assess the level of public engagement and participation in initiatives focused on reducing inequality. This indicator measures the extent to which individuals and communities actively participate in advocacy campaigns, community projects, or volunteering efforts aimed at addressing inequality. It can be measured through the number of participants, volunteer hours, or community involvement metrics.

Media coverage and discourse: Evaluate the media coverage and public discourse surrounding inequality in Hong Kong. This indicator assesses whether there is increased media attention and public discussions on the topic of inequality, highlighting its causes, impacts, and potential solutions. It can be measured through content analysis of media coverage and monitoring public discourse on social media platforms.

Policy and institutional changes: Assess changes in policies, regulations, and institutional practices that aim to address inequality. This indicator examines whether there have been policy reforms, changes in regulations, or the establishment of new institutions or initiatives specifically targeting inequality reduction. It can be measured through policy analysis and monitoring of institutional changes.
