Hello, Dr. MEL. I’ve read a lot of information about the medical facilities in Hong Kong that provide drug abusers with treatment. Could you please tell me more about the non-medical treatment or rehab service? As we attempt to conduct a brief survey comparing the efficacy of these two services for drug abusers.

Yes. Drug abusers should receive ongoing training and care services in a halfway house as part of these services' goal to assist them in getting clean and reintegrating into society.

Great! Should every client of the service reside in the halfway house?

In Hong Kong, drug abusers can choose to participate in the Residential Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Services, which is a voluntary non-medical rehabilitation program. The services, which offer non-medical drug treatment, rehabilitation services, and ongoing services, are based on the concepts of religious beliefs and social work.
