“Exchange” theory describing the interactions of the elderly with society and the assets they provide for mutual satisfaction. According to this, it is important in older adults to achieve a balance between their contributions to society and the costs of their support. Efforts should be directed toward increasing older people’s resources so that they are valued by society. They prefer to give money, time, caregiving, or other resources in exchange for services. Important variations are observed across cultures, but according to this theory, the way in which older adults are engaged in society diverges with the nature of their power resources, such as their material possessions, knowledge, and social authority.

Hi there. Collecting questionnaires is really expensive and time-consuming. For NGO staff, it is also very difficult since we have less solid research knowledge. Therefore, I am considering use second-hand data. However, I also found that reliable sources of data on patient behavior (e.g., physical activity or diet) are less available. Could you please help me with this struggle?

Hi everyone, an update! We have decided to utilize an online and paper-based survey to seek the views of gay and bisexual men about our program and their sexual behavior and practices. However, I heard that the data collection methods and analysis used in program evaluation are the same as those used in a standard research project. Is this true? If yes, it would be too difficult for us to use the SPSS software.

Hi everyone! I have found some information from The American Association of Diabetes Educators. They believe changes in patient behavior to be the outcome most sensitive to diabetes self-management support. We are also conducting a program for patients with diabetes. Could you give me a clue about how to measure the behavior changes in patients?

Hi everyone. We realize that patient surveys often are expensive, and relying on patients’ responses to NGO staff. It often could raise the potential for added bias to our evaluation results. I want to ask if you may have any recommendations for it?

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
