Yes. It depends on your research design and specific research questions. In quasi-experimental design, for example, other factors that may affect the outcomes can be controlled through random assignment.

Internal validity threats are experimental procedures, treatments or experiences of the participants that threaten the researcher’s ability to correctly interpret the data about the population in an experiment.

Hi everyone! It is well recognized that crime and delinquency of young people place considerable economic loss on society, from an economic standpoint. I am trying to find an appropriate way to estimate these costs in Hong Kong. Appreciate it if you could give me some advice to calculate. Or maybe provide me with some practical examples.

Following your previous suggestion, I have searched some theories to explain youth delinquency and the absence of parental supervision after school hours and found Hirschi’s social control theory. Yet, how to link youth’s behavior to social control is a huge challenge for me (I do believe in “the person in environment” theory). Grateful if you help me with it!

Hi there. I am conducting a program evaluation of our services for juvenile crime. Yet, surprisingly I found that the most likely time for a juvenile to commit a crime is weekdays, instead of weekends. It doesn’t make sense to me… Is there anyone who could give me a hand?

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
