Jockey Club MEL Institute Project Online Community of Practice Session (“MEL CoP”) was successfully held on 26 March 2024 (Tuesday)!

The fourth MEL CoP, held on 26 March 2024 (Tuesday), was a huge success and left a lasting impact on the participants. A diverse group of 62 attendees from different social service fields and professional backgrounds across the globe, including Singapore and Hong Kong, came together with great enthusiasm.

The event was graced by four experienced speakers, including Ms. Dorothy Lam, Co-Founder & Chief Catalyst of Dream Impact, Ms. Mila Devenport, Founder of Kigumi Group, Ms. Jessica Ng, Course Instructor of Generation Hong Kong, and Mr. Eric Ng, Principal Consultant of Futures Co-create Limited. Their presence and expertise enriched the session as they shared the benefits of incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into the operations of NGOs, shedding light on the positive impact it can have on organizations, specifically focusing on the context of Hong Kong.

Throughout the event, four speakers shared their insights on how incorporating ESG factors can enhance an organization’s ability to drive positive change, foster sustainable practices, and attract stakeholders who prioritize socially responsible investments. They also explored investor and board concerns related to ESG, addressed any potential challenges and offered strategies for effectively managing and communicating ESG practices to stakeholders.

The event inspired participants to think beyond compliance and embrace ESG as a catalyst for long-term sustainability, resilience, and social impact by examining innovative approaches and emerging trends. It empowered them to create a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
