In addition to your own professional observations, important individuals to include in this assessment are parents, teachers, siblings, and other adults who interact with maltreated children. Everyone may be somewhat biased in his or her perspective, but a moderate agreement between individuals is strong evidence that a problem exists that needs professional attention. Observation from multiple perspectives is the most valid and reliable method for evaluating children's emotional and behavioural status.
