Hi everyone, would you give me a clue why program Evaluation is necessary for a treatment program on substance use? Shouldn’t we focus on serving, instead of spending time on evaluating?

Traditionally, treatment providers have relied on their professional and personal experiences to answer these questions and determine if a treatment program has been correctly implemented and is reaching its desired goals. Due to the complexity of current substance abuse treatment programs and the growing number of clients entering treatment, the evaluation of such programs is not only desirable but also necessary to ensure that existing resources are efficiently distributed and services are of the highest quality.
