I think you can tell her that millions of people are living this new normal, which will take adjustment. And then, give her suggestions like prioritizing meeting basic needs first; considering mental health a top-tier need; staying connected with networks; focusing on happy things; developing a job search plan; practicing interview skills; investing in skill sets; asking for help when needed.
