If you are doing a study in Hong Kong, you might consider getting ethics approval from the Hospital Authority, if you look for patients from the HA. In case you do not get the approval, can you consider changing your recruitment strategy or adjust your target group? It takes time to go through the ethics approval, and there are different criteria that you need to fulfil, so you should plan well before acting.
