It is an international organization, helping persons with disabilities and their families, including those born with disabilities and those disabled through wars, violence, traffic or work injuries, disease, disasters and other causes. Its goals are as follows:
To mobilise resources through fostering relationships between North and South disability NGOs and co-operations;
To accelerate the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their families into development policies and practices;
To increase collaboration amongst development agencies and organizations to reduce the extreme poverty and exclusion of a substantial number of children, women and men with disabilities who are living in poor countries.
