The Pearls Program (www.pearlsprogram.org) is an evidence-based program for depression in late life and for those adults with epilepsy. The program is geared toward older adults (60+) who have symptoms related to minor depression and dysthymic disorder. The program focuses on teaching clients the skills necessary to move to action and make lasting life changes. The program is delivered in the home and designed to be part of a community-based model, primarily through existing service-provision programs. It is a team-based approach that is well suited for individuals with chronic illness.
