The Domestic Violence Ordinance was amended on 1 August 2008 and renamed as Domestic and Cohabitation Relationships Violence Ordinance on 1 January 2010. If a person has been molested by his/her spouse / former spouse/cohabitant / former cohabitant/relatives (hereinafter called “the Other Party”), he or she may make an application to the District Court for an injunction against the Other Party. If the Court is satisfied, the Court may grant an Injunction containing Non-molestation Order. Under such circumstances, the Court may also order the Other Party to participate in an Anti-violence Programme (AVP) seeking to change his / her attitude and behavior that lead to the granting of such injunction.
