Historically, quantitative research methods have been considered more scientific for the following reasons:

Objectivity and replicability: Quantitative research emphasizes objectivity and replicability. It relies on systematic and standardized procedures, allowing for precise measurement, control of variables, and replication of studies, enhancing the scientific rigor.

Statistical analysis: Quantitative research employs statistical analysis to analyze data, providing quantitative evidence and allowing for the identification of patterns, trends, and relationships. This emphasis on statistical analysis contributes to the perception of scientific rigor and precision.

Generalizability: Quantitative research often aims for generalizability by using representative samples and statistical inference. The ability to generalize findings to a larger population is seen as a key characteristic of scientific research.

Reductionist approach: Quantitative research typically breaks down complex phenomena into smaller, measurable variables. This reductionist approach aligns with the scientific goal of isolating and understanding specific factors, contributing to the perception of scientific rigor.

Experimental control: Quantitative research often utilizes experimental designs, enabling researchers to manipulate variables, control extraneous influences, and establish cause-and-effect relationships. This experimental control is seen as a hallmark of scientific research.

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
