Hi, friend! As you may also know that there are positive links between anger bias and aggression among children and adolescents who have been maltreated or exposed to violence, we hope to examine whether this bias can be reduced through our service, thereby preventing their aggressive responding. Our service plans to provide positive emotion training. However, we are trying to figure out what kinds of measurements could be used in our program evaluation. Would you please kindly give me some advice?

First of all, your measures should include questionnaires used to screen participants for eligibility in the project. Measures relevant to your project could include a demographic questionnaire (e.g., age, gender, race), a measure of pubertal phase, and measures tapping aggression, anger, conduct problems, callous-unemotional traits, and arrest records. The Pubertal Development Scale is a widely used self-report scale with good reliability and moderate-to-strong correlations with hormonal and physical indicators of pubertal development.

You may find more information with their original paper:
Petersen, A. C., Crockett, L., Richards, M., & Boxer, A. (1988). A self-report measure of pubertal status: Reliability, validity, and initial norms. Journal of Youth and Adolescence, 17, 117–133

Thanks to the MEL courses and everyone’s sharing, I’ve learned so much about program evaluation! One puzzling question for me is that as there are so many different models for evaluation, how could the evaluators decide to choose? Hence, may I ask what factors should be taken into consideration when I plan a program evaluation?

Hi, I’ve heard that the empowerment model of program evaluation is preferred by some evaluators for their collaboration with stakeholders of the program. Could anyone kindly give me a clue about its weaknesses?

Hello. Some of my colleagues suggest that we could use the theory-based model in our program evaluation. But I don’t know this model very much. Could anyone kindly give me a clue about the strengths and weaknesses of this model?

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
