Scientific methods can provide a framework for social work practices and interventions and help obtain the best results possible. It can help social workers to collect data systematically, be cautious and consider alternative explanations of events while drawing conclusions, use research-based knowledge as much as possible, and critically evaluate the results of one’s activities.
