Researchers often use both quantitative and qualitative methods in multi-method research projects. For instance, qualitative methods may be used to obtain information on the meaning, affect, and culture, while quantitative methods are used to measure structural, contextual, and institutional features. Other combinations of qualitative and quantitative approaches involve hybrid strategies.
