Small group meetings can be effectively organized using the Nominal Group Technique (NGT), which enables individual judgments to be combined and applied in circumstances when there is confusion or dispute regarding the nature of an issue and potential solutions:
1. Group members should be instructed to work independently for five minutes and write down any ideas or issues they have. 2. A round-robin method could be used to elicit responses. The facilitator writes down on a flip chart, in brief terms, the suggestions or ideas of each group member. 3. The responses have now been compiled, explained, condensed, and rationally categorized. 4. Voting on item priorities is a step in the prioritization process.
