Awe is defined as an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, or fear, often inspired by something grand or sublime, such as nature or significant achievements.

The relationship between awe and prosociality in children is positive; experiencing awe can enhance prosocial behaviors, such as helping and sharing. Research indicates that awe promotes a sense of connectedness and reduces self-focus, encouraging children to act in ways that benefit others. This emotional response fosters empathy and a greater willingness to engage in altruistic actions, contributing to social cohesion and cooperation among peers.
