Definition of Physical Fitness

It encompasses health-related components like cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, body composition, and skill-related components such as agility, balance, coordination, power, and speed.

Measuring Physical Fitness

To measure physical fitness, standardized assessments are used, including:

Cardiorespiratory fitness: VO2 max tests or 1.5-mile run

Muscular strength: One-repetition maximum (1RM) tests

Flexibility: Sit-and-reach test

Body composition: Skinfold measurements or bioelectrical impedance analysis
