When evaluating a clinical psychological service for children, here are five indicators to consider:
1. Symptom reduction: Measure the reduction in psychological symptoms or distress among the children who have received the service. This can involve using validated assessment tools to evaluate changes in symptoms such as anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, or trauma-related symptoms. Comparing pre- and post-service measurements can provide insights into the effectiveness of the service in alleviating psychological symptoms.
2. Functional improvement: Assess improvements in children's daily functioning and quality of life. This can involve evaluating changes in areas such as school performance, social relationships, self-care, or family dynamics. Observations, interviews with parents or caregivers, and reports from teachers or other relevant individuals can provide insights into the functional improvements resulting from the service.
3. Parent and caregiver satisfaction: Measure the satisfaction levels of parents or caregivers who have utilized the clinical psychological service for their children. Conduct surveys, interviews, or feedback sessions to gather information about their experiences, perceptions of the service's effectiveness, and overall satisfaction. Parental satisfaction can indicate the service's efficacy and its impact on the well-being of children.
4. Treatment engagement and retention: Evaluate the level of engagement and retention of children and their families in the clinical psychological service. This can involve tracking attendance rates, completion of recommended sessions or treatment plans, and adherence to therapeutic activities or homework assignments. Higher engagement and retention rates indicate the service's effectiveness in maintaining the commitment of children and their families to the therapeutic process.
5. Long-term outcomes: Assess the long-term outcomes of children who have received the clinical psychological service. This can include tracking indicators such as relapse rates, sustained symptom reduction, academic achievement, and overall well-being in the months or years following the intervention. Longitudinal studies or follow-up assessments can provide insights into the lasting impact of the service on children's mental health and functioning.

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
