Interviewers should make an effort to be respectful of candidates with disabilities without coming across as patronizing. Following are some guidelines for interviewers while speaking with people who have disabilities:
1. Be aware that the interview process may take more time and patience than expected.
2. Clearly introduce yourself to the interviewer. Describe to the person with a disability each person's function and the purpose of their attendance at the interview.
3. Make an effort to use straightforward language.
