There are two branches in the Social Services Department. One is the financial department and the other is human welfare. In the financial department, the social worker determines the needs of the family and assists them in applying for any financial assistance. Once the family qualifies the social worker then monitors their ongoing needs and assists them in becoming independent of public assistance.
