Yes, family therapy is effective for treating a variety of mental disorders and common conflicts couples and families have with one another. But it is not helpful all the time. If members of the family want everybody else (or maybe only one person) to make all the changes, then the family therapy is not helpful. When everybody gets into it, it can be really helpful.
