Hi there. Regarding how the data will be collected, when it will be collected, and from whom, I understand there are typically two possible designs—randomized controlled design and pre-post comparison. However, I am not sure how to decide. Could you please help me compare those two?

The randomized controlled design is more resource-intensive and complicated to conduct and may be extremely difficult to incorporate into the routine program of a treatment center. A pre-post design can more realistically be incorporated into the routine program of each treatment center. This design enables clients to be assessed on the same outcome domains both before and after undergoing the program. Clients participating in any of the sustainable livelihood projects (e.g., vocational activities) are administered the relevant data collection instruments at entry into the program and pre-determined intervals while in the program.

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
