Hi there. Following the previous post, I understand the theory of adult learning and experiential learning is in line with Preskill’s suggestion, which emphasizes that participants need to be engaged in collaborative learning strategies rather than simply relying on didactic presentations or reading. Could you please let me know how this perspective is possible in an evaluation capacity-building project?

You are right. Meanwhile, Preskill also further has pointed out that evaluation capacity-building efforts could achieve this goal through (a) having clear goals and objectives; (b) reflecting adult learning principles and recognize that learning is experiential as well as cognitive; (c) being designed to foster the transfer of learning back to the job; (d) including dialogue, reflection, and feedback; (e) considering different learning styles; (f) taking into account the cultural context and be culturally responsive; (g) using facilitators who are trusted, respected, and humble; and (h) providing adequate time for learning. You could search this paper for further reading.

of Evaluation, 29, 443-459.

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
