Hello! I’ve come across the notion that researchers are focusing on how teenagers spend their free time after school as a key area of study in delinquency prevention. Nevertheless, I’m a bit uncertain about the reasoning behind this claim. I was wondering if someone could assist me in understanding it better. Thank you !

Definitely! The most impactful experiences during one's youth often extend beyond the walls of educational institutions, involving interactions with people, visits to different places, and engagement in various activities. This is where afterschool programs step in, playing a significant role in engaging young individuals in the learning process. These programs provide avenues for exploring personal interests, acquiring practical skills, problem-solving, taking on leadership roles, forging connections with like-minded peers, seeking guidance from adult mentors, and actively participating in community improvement endeavors. Consequently, it becomes essential to examine the effectiveness of recreation-based afterschool programs in promoting positive youth development. Additionally, can we quantify the value gained by society through a reduction in crime and delinquency, thus showcasing the cost-effectiveness of these programs?

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
