Welcome to the International Conference on ‘Promoting a Sustainable MEL Culture in the NGO Sector: Innovative Designs and Practical Lessons’!
MEL—Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning— is widely recognized as an essential tool for organizational effectiveness and social impact assessment. Nowadays, both academia and NGO practitioners share a common goal: creating meaningful and sustained social change. By adopting innovative MEL approaches and fostering a long-term, embedded MEL culture, NGOs can prove accountability, improve effectiveness, and strengthen organizational learning. However, many NGOs still face challenges in embedding MEL practices into their everyday operations.
In light of this, it is our great pleasure to share with you that with the funding support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Jockey Club MEL Institute Project will organize the online International Conference on ‘Promoting a Sustainable MEL Culture in the NGO Sector: Innovative Designs and Practical Lessons’ on 23 May 2025. This conference aims to showcase real-world MEL applications in enhancing social programs, while fostering collaboration and discussion among researchers, practitioners, and funders to promote MEL sustainability. The conference will feature keynote presentations and plenary sessions, providing a rich exchange of ideas on how NGOs can leverage MEL for long-term impact.
With your active participation and valuable support and contribution, the conference would definitely be very successful, and we look forward to meeting and welcoming you at the conference.
Finally, I wish you a fruitful and enjoyable conference!
