To evaluate a program focused on the relationship between parent-child relationship and parents' psychological well-being, consider the following five key points:

Parent surveys and self-report measures: Administer surveys and self-report measures to parents participating in the program to assess their perception of the parent-child relationship and their psychological well-being. Use validated instruments to measure factors such as attachment quality, parenting stress, parental self-efficacy, and levels of depression and anxiety. Compare pre-program and post-program data to identify changes in the parent-child relationship and psychological well-being.

Observational assessments: Conduct observational assessments of parent-child interactions to obtain objective data on the quality of the parent-child relationship. Utilize standardized observation tools or rating scales to evaluate aspects such as warmth, responsiveness, communication, and conflict resolution. Assess changes in parent-child interactional patterns after program participation to determine if there are improvements in the relationship.

Qualitative interviews and focus groups: Conduct qualitative interviews or focus groups with participating parents to gain in-depth insights into their experiences of the program and the impact on their parent-child relationship and psychological well-being. Explore their perceptions of changes in the parent-child relationship, their feelings of confidence and self-worth as parents, and any improvements in their emotional well-being. Analyze the qualitative data to identify common themes and patterns.

Comparative analysis: Compare the data collected from participating parents with a control group or a comparison group that did not receive the intervention. Assess if there are significant differences in the parent-child relationship and psychological well-being between the program participants and the comparison group. This analysis helps to determine the program's specific effects on the parent-child relationship and psychological well-being, beyond any natural changes over time.

Longitudinal follow-up: Conduct follow-up assessments at regular intervals after program completion to assess the sustainability of changes in the parent-child relationship and psychological well-being. Track participants' progress over time to determine if the program's effects are maintained or if additional support is required. Longitudinal data can provide valuable insights into the long-term impact of the program on parent-child dynamics and psychological well-being.
