Difference between sample size and effect size?

Sample size is a count the of individual samples or observations in any statistical setting,
Effect size is a simple way of quantifying the difference between two groups that has many advantages over the use of tests of statistical significance alone. Effect size emphasizes the size of the difference rather than confounding this with sample size.

I understand the confusion because the names are so similar ;) but as Yuen Hang explains it, I can see how they are different from each other. Thanks!

Sample size is the size the sample. Effect size is the size of the effect of an input on an outcome. The two sizes are different and never comparable. Effect size does not depend on sample size. A larger sample would not generate a stronger effect.
