Sure. Treatment evaluation helps to improve the quality of care and save money and resources for effective services. The ultimate goal is to gather credible evidence on program implementation, treatment results, and cost-efficiency that will help in the decision-making process to improve the quality of care. Other reasons for treatment evaluation include the following:
• To ensure that resources are not wasted on ineffective programs or activities.
• To monitor progress towards the program’s goals.
• To determine whether the program components are producing the desired results.
• To compare groups, for example, to compare populations with disproportionately high-risk factors for substance abuse and related health problems.
• To justify the need for further funding of your program and to market your program.
• To find new opportunities for treatment improvement.
• To distinguish between effective and ineffective programs or services.

This is particularly necessary in many parts of the world where resources are scarce and drug abuse treatment may not be considered a top priority.

Hi there. I found it is really impressive that telehealth is so powerful, far beyond my imagination! It turns out telehealth covers so many themes, including the telehealth modalities (e.g., video, asynchronous), clinical topics (e.g., chronic disease management), telehealth function (e.g., remote patient monitoring, consultations). Could you help me with its effectiveness? It seems impossible for me to summarize.

Hi there. While it sounds like data visualizations are so valuable, I wonder if there is any weakness about it that social workers should keep in mind?

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
