When evaluating a program aiming to provide training and employment services for ex-offenders, consider the following five points:

Employment rates: Measure the program's success in facilitating employment for ex-offenders. Evaluate the number and percentage of program participants who secure and maintain employment after completing the training and employment services. Compare these rates to the employment rates among ex-offenders who did not participate in the program. A higher employment rate among program participants indicates the program's effectiveness in improving their prospects for successful employment.

Job retention: Assess the program's impact on job retention among ex-offenders. Measure the length of time program participants remain employed after securing a job. Evaluate factors such as job satisfaction, workplace support, and the application of skills learned during the training program. A higher job retention rate indicates the program's effectiveness in helping ex-offenders maintain employment stability.

Skill development: Evaluate the acquisition and development of skills among program participants. Assess the extent to which the training and employment services enhance participants' job-related skills, such as technical skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Collect feedback from employers or conduct performance assessments to gauge the skills and competencies gained through the program.

Employer satisfaction: Gather feedback from employers who have hired program participants. Assess their satisfaction with the skills, work ethic, and overall performance of ex-offenders. Obtain information on their willingness to hire additional program participants in the future. Positive feedback from employers indicates the program's effectiveness in preparing ex-offenders for employment and meeting the needs of the job market.

Participant feedback: Obtain feedback from program participants regarding their experiences with the training and employment services. Conduct surveys, interviews, or focus groups to assess their satisfaction with the program, perceived benefits, and suggestions for improvement. Participant feedback provides valuable insights into the program's effectiveness in meeting their training and employment needs, addressing barriers to employment, and supporting their successful reintegration.
