To evaluate a program focused on the relationship between characteristics of school and cyber and family victimization among school-aged children in Hong Kong, consider the following five key points:

Surveys and questionnaires: Administer surveys and questionnaires to school-aged children to assess their experiences of cyber and family victimization. Include questions related to the characteristics of the school environment, such as school climate, bullying prevalence, and safety measures. Use validated scales to measure cyber victimization, family victimization, and relevant factors like social support and coping strategies. Analyze the data to examine the relationship between school characteristics and victimization experiences.

School environment observations: Conduct direct observations of the school environment to assess its characteristics and identify potential risk factors for victimization. Observe aspects such as the physical layout, social dynamics among students, teacher-student interactions, and the presence of anti-bullying policies or programs. Document any observable factors that may contribute to cyber and family victimization. Compare observations across different schools to identify patterns and correlations.

Comparative analysis: Compare the experiences of cyber and family victimization among children in different schools to evaluate the role of school characteristics. Divide participants into groups based on the characteristics of their schools, such as school size, location, socio-economic status, or implementation of anti-bullying interventions. Analyze the data to examine if there are significant differences in victimization rates and severity between the groups.

Interviews and focus groups: Conduct qualitative interviews or focus groups with school-aged children, parents, teachers, and school administrators to gather their perspectives on the relationship between school characteristics and victimization. Explore their experiences, perceptions, and insights about the impact of specific school factors on cyber and family victimization. Analyze the qualitative data to identify common themes and provide a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying the relationship.

Longitudinal study: Conduct a longitudinal study to assess the long-term impact of school characteristics on cyber and family victimization. Follow a cohort of school-aged children over a designated period, collecting data at multiple time points. Continuously assess the characteristics of their schools and track changes in victimization experiences. This study design allows for the examination of causal relationships and the identification of potential protective or risk factors associated with school characteristics.
