To evaluate a program focused on the relationship between psychological stress and parental involvement among parents of children with intellectual disability, consider the following five key points:

Assessing psychological stress: Administer validated measures or questionnaires to assess the psychological stress levels experienced by parents of children with intellectual disability. Utilize well-established scales that capture various dimensions of stress, such as perceived stress, parenting stress, or caregiver burden. Quantify and compare stress levels between parents participating in the program and those who are not. Consider using pre- and post-program measurements to evaluate any changes in stress levels over time.

Parental involvement assessment: Evaluate the level of parental involvement in the care and support of children with intellectual disability. Utilize surveys or questionnaires to gather information on the extent of parental involvement, including activities such as attending therapy sessions, participating in educational planning, engaging in leisure activities, and advocating for their child's needs. Compare the levels of parental involvement between parents participating in the program and those who are not.

Quantitative analysis: Perform a quantitative analysis to examine the relationship between psychological stress and parental involvement among parents of children with intellectual disability. Utilize statistical methods such as correlation analysis to assess the strength and direction of the relationship. Determine if higher levels of stress are associated with lower levels of parental involvement or if there are other patterns evident in the data. Consider controlling for relevant demographic variables or child-related factors that may influence the relationship.

Qualitative interviews: Conduct qualitative interviews with a subset of parents to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, perceptions, and the factors influencing the relationship between psychological stress and parental involvement. Explore the challenges faced by parents in balancing their caregiving responsibilities, managing stress, and maintaining involvement in their child's life. Analyze the qualitative data to identify common themes, personal narratives, and contextual factors that contribute to the relationship.

Program impact evaluation: Assess the impact of the program on psychological stress and parental involvement among parents of children with intellectual disability. Evaluate if the program has contributed to reduced psychological stress levels and increased parental involvement. Utilize pre- and post-program measurements to compare changes in stress levels and parental involvement over time. Additionally, include feedback from program participants regarding the program's relevance, effectiveness, and areas for improvement.
