When evaluating the effectiveness of an educational program about postoperative recovery for family members, consider the following five points:
1. Knowledge acquisition: Assess the extent to which family members have gained knowledge about postoperative recovery. This can be done through pre- and post-program tests or surveys to measure their understanding of key concepts, procedures, and potential complications.
2. Behavior change: Evaluate whether the program has influenced family members' behaviors regarding postoperative care. Monitor if they are implementing the recommended practices, such as adhering to medication schedules, wound care, and providing emotional support. Conduct follow-up surveys or interviews to gather insights about any behavioral changes observed.
3. Confidence and empowerment: Gauge the level of confidence and empowerment family members feel in their ability to contribute to the postoperative recovery process. Assess their self-perceived competence in providing care, managing potential complications, and effectively communicating with healthcare professionals.
4. Satisfaction and feedback: Collect feedback from family members regarding their satisfaction with the program. Use surveys or interviews to gather their opinions on the program's content, delivery methods, usefulness, and relevance. Identify areas of improvement based on their suggestions or concerns.
5. Patient outcomes: Assess the impact of the educational program on patient outcomes. Monitor the recovery progress of patients whose family members participated in the program. Compare their outcomes, such as reduced complications, shorter hospital stays, and improved overall well-being, with those whose family members did not receive education.

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
