Here are five points to consider when evaluating the effectiveness of a program focused on adult offenders' rehabilitation volunteer groups:

Employment and economic stability: Assessing the program's impact on participants' employment prospects and economic stability is crucial. This includes measuring factors such as job placement rates, income levels, and financial self-sufficiency. A successful rehabilitation program should equip participants with the skills and support necessary to secure and maintain stable employment, reducing the likelihood of reoffending due to financial pressures.

Community safety and public perception: Evaluating the program's effect on community safety and public perception is important. This can involve assessing changes in crime rates, public opinion surveys on community safety, and the program's contribution to reducing fear of crime. A successful rehabilitation program should not only focus on individual participant outcomes but also contribute to creating safer communities.

Restorative justice and victim satisfaction: Consider evaluating the program's emphasis on restorative justice principles and its impact on victim satisfaction. This includes assessing whether the program facilitates opportunities for offenders to make amends, take responsibility for their actions, and address the harm caused by their crimes. Victim satisfaction surveys and feedback can provide insights into the program's effectiveness in promoting healing and reconciliation.

Long-term behavior change and sustainability: Assessing the sustainability of behavior change is vital. This involves evaluating participants' long-term commitment to positive change, their ability to maintain progress after program completion, and their continued engagement in pro-social activities. Tracking recidivism rates over an extended period can help determine the program's lasting impact.

Collaboration and partnerships: Evaluating the program's ability to collaborate with relevant stakeholders and establish partnerships is important. This includes assessing the program's relationships with criminal justice agencies, community organizations, employers, and other key entities. Successful collaboration and partnerships can enhance the program's effectiveness by providing comprehensive support and resources to participants.
