When evaluating a program aiming to help new arrivals settle down, here are five indicators that can be used:
1. Access to essential services: Measure the extent to which new arrivals have access to essential services such as healthcare, education, housing, and legal assistance. Indicators can include the percentage of participants who have successfully enrolled in healthcare programs, enrolled their children in schools, secured stable housing, and received legal support or documentation.
2. Language acquisition and communication skills: Assess the progress of new arrivals in acquiring the local language and developing effective communication skills. Indicators can include language proficiency levels, attendance and completion rates of language classes or language exchange programs, and the ability of participants to engage in basic conversations and navigate daily tasks in the new language.
3. Employment and economic integration: Evaluate the degree to which new arrivals have been able to find employment and integrate economically into their new communities. Indicators can include the percentage of participants who have secured regular employment, the average income level of participants, and the number of participants who have accessed vocational training or entrepreneurship support programs.
4. Social integration and community engagement: Measure the level of social integration and community engagement among new arrivals. Indicators can include participation in community events, volunteering activities, or cultural exchange programs. It can also include indicators that reflect the extent to which new arrivals have developed social networks and established supportive relationships within the local community.
5. Well-being and mental health: Assess the well-being and mental health status of new arrivals. Indicators can include self-reported measures of life satisfaction, levels of stress, access to mental health support services, and the utilization of counseling or therapy resources. Monitoring indicators related to mental health can help identify potential challenges and ensure appropriate support is provided.

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
