Minimum sample size for online survey?

We are about to do a survey on one of our online ads and its effect on youth's perspective. What would be the minimum sample size for a survey conducted online? Will it be different from the survey off-line? The demographics are male / female, aged 15 to 24 years. Thank you.

It depends on your research question. Generally, the larger the sample size, the better.

There is no fixed rule, just because of the impossible of random sampling in most settings. Anyhow, if it is a random sampling, 1,537 cases will be necessary to obtain a 95% confidence interval that is 10% of the standard deviation. This is the minimum as random sampling is hardly achievable.
