Qualitative research typically addresses the following general questions:

What is the meaning and interpretation of a phenomenon? Qualitative research explores the subjective experiences, perspectives, and meanings individuals attach to a particular phenomenon, aiming to understand the underlying meanings and interpretations.

How do individuals or groups experience a phenomenon? Qualitative research investigates the lived experiences of individuals or groups, delving into the details of their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and interactions to gain a rich understanding of the phenomenon from their perspectives.

What are the social and cultural contexts that shape the phenomenon? Qualitative research examines the social and cultural contexts that influence and shape the phenomenon under study. It explores the socio-cultural factors, norms, values, and practices that contribute to the understanding of the phenomenon.

How do individuals or groups make sense of their experiences? Qualitative research explores the processes by which individuals or groups make sense of their experiences. It investigates the cognitive, emotional, and social processes involved in sense-making and meaning construction.

What are the underlying patterns, themes, or theories that emerge from the data? Qualitative research aims to identify patterns, themes, or theories that emerge from the data. It involves systematic analysis of qualitative data to identify commonalities, variations, and overarching concepts or theories that provide insights into the phenomenon.
