In general, reasons for an individual’s substance use include some complex factors that have been unique to the individual, ranging from psychological factors such as curiosity, risk-taking and coping, to peer influence and environmental influence. A study has suggested that parents had a huge influence on young people’s attitude towards substance use (Lander et al., 2013).

Lander, L., Howsare, J., & Byrne, M. (2013). The impact of substance use disorders on families and children: from theory to practice. Social work in public health, 28(3-4), 194–205. https://doi.org/10.1080/19371918.2013.759005

If I have two intervention approaches, treatment A and treatment B, for ex-offenders in the community, I am considering investigating their relative effectiveness compared to doing nothing. Should I establish a control group to make a comparison between the two interventions?

In the case of ex-offenders, individuals who participate in self-reliance group work may exhibit improved outcomes upon reintegration into the community, unlike those who do not. How can I assess the efficacy of the group work intervention?

It is conceivable that individuals who have been incarcerated and now reside in the community may encounter social exclusion. I am determined to take action to address this issue. However, merely asking them, “Do you feel socially excluded?” does not provide a comprehensive understanding of their experience. Can you assist me in finding a solution?

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
