When evaluating the effectiveness of supported employment training programs for persons with disabilities, several indicators can be considered. Here are five key indicators for program evaluation:
1. Employment placement: Assess the success of the supported employment training program in facilitating job placements for individuals with disabilities. Indicators may include the number and percentage of participants who secure competitive employment, job retention rates, wage levels, and opportunities for career advancement.
2. Skill development and training: Evaluate the effectiveness of the program in developing job-related skills and providing training opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Indicators can include improvements in vocational skills, certifications or qualifications obtained, progress in job-specific competencies, and the availability of ongoing training and skill enhancement programs.
3. Job satisfaction and work performance: Measure the satisfaction levels and work performance of individuals with disabilities in their supported employment positions. Indicators may include feedback from employers and supervisors regarding job performance, productivity levels, and the overall satisfaction of individuals in their work roles.
4. Long-term job retention and advancement: Assess the ability of the supported employment program to support long-term job retention and advancement for individuals with disabilities. Indicators can include the duration of employment for program participants, opportunities for career growth within the same company or industry, and the level of job stability achieved.
5. Participant independence and integration: Measure the impact of the supported employment training program on the independence and integration of individuals with disabilities in the workplace and the broader community. Indicators may include improvements in social skills, self-reliance, the ability to navigate workplace environments, and the level of community engagement and inclusion.
