Accessing mental health services can be challenging for young people in Hong Kong due to various factors. Here are several key challenges they may face:
1. Stigma and cultural barriers: Mental health issues still carry significant stigma in Hong Kong society. Young people may face reluctance or fear in seeking help due to concerns about being labeled or judged. Cultural factors, such as the emphasis on academic achievement and the perception of mental health as a personal rather than a medical issue, can further hinder help-seeking behaviors.
2. Limited awareness and knowledge: Many young people may have limited awareness or knowledge about mental health issues and available services. They may not recognize their symptoms or understand the importance of seeking professional support. Lack of information and education about mental health can act as a barrier to accessing appropriate services.
3. Long waiting times and resource constraints: The demand for mental health services in Hong Kong often exceeds the available resources, leading to long waiting times for appointments and limited availability of specialized services. Young people may face delays in accessing the care they need, which can exacerbate their mental health conditions and discourage help-seeking.
4. Financial constraints: The cost of mental health services and treatments can be a significant barrier for young people, particularly those from lower-income backgrounds or without adequate insurance coverage. High treatment costs, including therapy sessions, medication, and assessments, may deter young people from seeking professional help.
5. Language barriers and cultural competence: Young people from non-Chinese speaking backgrounds or ethnic minority communities may face language barriers when accessing mental health services. Limited availability of services in languages other than Chinese or English can make it harder for them to find culturally and linguistically appropriate care.

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?
