Topic:

Effectiveness of Adding Gamification to Adults Mental Health Education: Hybrid versus Online-only Modes

Description:

Against the backdrop of growing public concern for mental health, especially among employees, caregivers, and young adults, online mental health platforms have gradually emerged in Hong Kong during the COVID-19 pandemic. Concurrently, online psycho-education in the domain of lifestyle medicine has proven to be an effective early intervention for promoting protective factors of mental wellness. Our MEL alumni will share insights on the effectiveness of developing online services into a hybrid mode in the post-pandemic era. Additionally, the integration of gamification serves as a novel element to cultivate interest in mental health psycho-education and the learning experience. Furthermore, they will illustrate how to incorporate service innovation and program evaluation as data-driven strategies for the development of online mental health platforms. Finally, the speakers will share their MEL learnings and applications within their respective service settings.

Introduction of the Jockey Club MEL Institute Project:

A 3-year program, Jockey Club MEL Institute Project, funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, aims to further promote organizational-level MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) capacity by providing holistic training to local NGO practitioners. Participants from different social services and professional backgrounds in local NGOs will complete a 6-month program, which consists of a 7-week training session and a 4-month mentored practicum.
