The seventh MEL CoP, held on December 17, 2024 (Tuesday), was a huge success and left a lasting impact on the participants. A diverse group of 83 attendees, representing various social service fields and professional backgrounds, gathered with great enthusiasm.

The event was graced by two experienced speakers, including Mr. Toh Ping Fung, Senior Social Work Supervisor from Caritas Hong Kong, and Ms. Chung Yin Wai, Project Leader from Hong Kong Christian Service. Their presence and expertise greatly enriched the session as they shared comprehensive approaches for supporting fathers of children with special educational needs (SEN).

Throughout the event, both speakers provided valuable insights on father-focused programs, the implementation of the MEL framework in project execution and assessments, as well as their learning outcomes in the MEL journey. Given the success of the project, they also explored further developments aimed at empowering more fathers in their family roles and enhancing parent-child relationships.

The event inspired participants to reconsider the challenges fathers face in caring for SEN children and encouraged practitioners across various NGO sectors to strive for strengthening fathers’ essential functioning in family. It fostered a vision of a supportive familial environment for SEN children’s development and growth.
