Yes and no. Yes is because the comparability or similarity of the groups is much more likely to occur if the population is large. Even the random assignment may not produce equivalence if the sample size is small.
No is because a large sample size doesn’t guarantee comparability. Efforts should be invested to assess whether the treatment and control groups are similar.
