Due to COVID-19, numerous families living across the border have been separated for an extended period. I plan to conduct interviews with some family members in Mainland China. Would it be appropriate to use purposive sampling as a data collection method?

Probability sampling appears to be unachievable for the typhoon-affected population. Is convenience sampling allowed?
